Someone whom I greatly admire, Dr Wayne Dyer wrote a book entitled Don’t die with your music still in you.
This is a sentiment that I agree with 100%. And whilst my ambitions to be a world famous rock guitarist or singer were curtailed by my lack of musical ability, I realised that my “music” was the message that I try to convey in my one to one work and in my new book The Financial Healer.

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
W.L. Bateman expressed it as…
If you keep on doing what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got.
I first came across these quotations while I was studying NLP nearly 10 years ago. I was surprised that I hadn’t stumbled across them before. but now in hindsight, it probably wasn’t a surprise at all. The only reading I ever did outside of work was music magazines and the odd newspaper. My leisure time was usually spent socializing, playing sport (obviously not a bad thing) or watching rubbish TV
At the time, I was working in corporate world. I used to spend a lot of time driving to meet clients all over the UK and would often get stuck in traffic. My perception of driving was that it was a bit of a drag. I certainly didn’t help myself by listening to the same talk radio station feeding me endless negative messages
I had to stop what I was always doing…
And ask myself what would be a better use of my time spent in the car. It was then that I discovered self-help CDs, the first one’s being the Tony Robbins program Get The Edge quickly followed by The Achiever’s Edge regular audio program from Peter Thomson. Listening to them helped to eat up the miles and I actually started to look forward to those long journeys. With the advent of podcasts and apps such as audible, the availability of downloadable products is almost endless, and the cost of programs have, in general, reduced substantially.
The important action to take is to take action…
Alfred Edward Perlman once wrote:
After you’ve done a thing the same way for two years, look it over carefully. After five years, look at it with suspicion. And after ten years, throw it away and start all over.
What have you been doing the same way for two, five or ten years? What do you need to do differently to move forward in life?
Maybe it is time to stop playing the victim card and choose to do something about your current position
Or it could be…
Time to forgive yourself, which is the greatest forgiveness of all.
Investing in self help information products is an investment in yourself, provided that you learn and take action. But surely you are worth the investment, aren’t you?

My aim for The Financial Healer eBook was to explain the principles behind EFT, Matrix Reimprinting and NLP in a simple and unique and hopefully entertaining way. It tells the story of Alex Lucas, an overweight middle aged divorcee desperately seeking to change his life, but not knowing how. The answer came from an unlikely source.
The idea at the core of the eBook is that while most people understand the mechanics of saving money they fail to put these strategies into practise. It’s designed to help alter what makes people consciously want to save money but subconsciously sabotage the good work they’ve done.
I like to think that the book will be my legacy based upon my 27 years in financial services and over 10 years studying how the mind works.
It contains a simple message which I believe is underplayed in similar books. If you haven’t found an answer as to why your finances control you, rather than the other way round, then you have been looking in the wrong place. This book tells you where to look.
I hope you’ll download it this weekend and find it useful, let me know if you do, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

With the financial Healer book now finished and available to buy on Amazon, I have been reflecting on the emotional roller-coaster I experienced during the writing process.
The initial excitement I experienced as my ideas came to life soon gave way to self doubt; was it any good? Would people want to read it? Is it written in the right way? (I had already metaphorically ripped up the first version which was essentially a “how to” book). In the end I trusted my gut feeling and went with what felt right. I also felt blessed that I received so much support for the project from my friends and family.
We were nearly at the end of our session when Elizabeth’s expression suddenly changed from bemusement to a look of realisation.
“Ah, I get it now” said my client, “this whole financial healing thing is really about self worth and not net worth. Our financial situation is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves. And I guess this reflection shows up in other areas such as health relationships and in our careers”
That pretty much nailed it and with this in mind, the intention of my blog post is to cover a multitude of areas, not just financial issues. The techniques I primarily use, EFT, Matrix Reimprinting and NLP help with any issues across the board. In fact the creator EFT, Gary Craig encourages us to “try it on everything”
In this video, I cover the fundamental EFT process that so many of my clients have found so powerful. Using just this video you may well be able to address your limiting beliefs about money. Again, you might like to watch it all the way through, then tap along with me. Don’t worry, there is very little that can go wrong with EFT, and the process is very accommodating.
Secondary gain is a concept I come across a lot. When I first heard about it I was very sceptical. But as I worked with it, with myself and clients, I began to get results. Bizarrely, this video might well be just the perspective shift you need.
In this short video, I demonstrate step by step how to go about using Anchoring, a powerful technique for managing your state that comes from NLP. You might like to watch it through first, then follow what I suggest in the video.
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:
12 Presents want wrapping
11 Lights not working
10 Days of shopping
9 Cards need posting
8 Games of charades
7 Pounds of weight gain
6 Family visits
5 Unwanted Gifts
4 Squabbling kids
3 Hangovers
2 Broken Toys
and a parcel still in transit
With Christmas in the rear view mirror I’ve been thinking about all the stresses of Christmas. A friend and fellow coach, John Donaldson has renamed the 12 days of Christmas as the 12 days of stressmas and I don’t think he is too far off the mark.
One of the reasons I am so enthusiastic about the work that I do is that I have seen first hand how it can change people’s lives in just a few sessions. My ultimate aim is to get the techniques out to as wide an audience as possible.
“Hey Mark, so what exactly is this ‘tapping thing’ that you keep mentioning, it all seems a little weird to me” This is the typical comment I get from my friends Most of them, especially those from my home town, can’t get their heads around how I have changed from being a ‘regular Joe who likes football (English version) and music and was scared of commitment, to someone who seems happy in their own skin and who professes that the answers lie ‘within’.
The simple facts are that NLP, EFT and Matrix Reimprinting changed my life. They help me understand who I am, who my authentic self is, and assist me on my own personal journey from the former to the latter. Read More
No matter if this is your first exposure to tapping or you’ve been tapping for awhile, DOUBT can cause you to question yourself, and this tool, and next thing you know you’ve put this powerful tool on the shelf.
If you’re worried and thinking, “What if I’m not doing it right?”, then I’ve got a little tap-a-long for you today.
I have a gift for you today from my friends at the Unstoppable You in Business EFT Summit – a free video from Nick Ortner, the author of The Tapping Solution, which was on the NY best sellers list. He is also the producer of The Tapping World Summit the on-line EFT event that was attended by more than a half a million people. Read More
The summit is called ‘Unstoppable You Business Intensive’ and it’s based around the Tapping World Summit. Anybody who knows EFT will be familiar with this. It runs for five consecutive days with two interviews presented each night and it’s got some big names in the EFT market this year.
Matrix Reimprinting is an energy-based set of techniques that can be used to heal trauma that occurred early in life that still has a profound effect on our behaviour as adults.
Matrix Reimprinting uses EFT together with parts therapy, Timeline therapy and dissociation from NLP. It works on the basis that most negative self-beliefs are developed in the first six years of life. These beliefs – most of them in our subconscious and therefore out of our conscious awareness – drive our behaviour, often in negative ways.
What Is Stress?
Different people define stress in different ways. I define stress as the way we respond to our environment and our body’s reaction to that environment.
The reason we work on beliefs is because it’s your beliefs that run everything. Read More
A belief is something that’s engrained into you. It’s a feeling of certainty that something is true. And beliefs are important as they strongly influence behaviour. Read More
The reason you need to work on beliefs is because it’s your beliefs that run everything. Your beliefs form you and you will run your life based upon your beliefs.
To change people’s lives from a financial point of view what you need to do is to work at two levels. This is to ensure that they have control over their finances rather than have their finances controlling their lives. Read More
