What is EFT, Who Does it Work for and Why Does it Work?

“Hey Mark, so what exactly is this ‘tapping thing’ that you keep mentioning, it all seems a little weird to me” This is the typical comment I get from my friends Most of them, especially those from my home town, can’t get their heads around how I have changed from being a ‘regular Joe who likes football (English version) and music and was scared of commitment, to someone who seems happy in their own skin and who professes that the answers lie ‘within’.

The simple facts are that NLP, EFT and Matrix Reimprinting changed my life. They help me understand who I am, who my authentic self is, and assist me on my own personal journey from the former to the latter.

During the first session I have with my clients, I teach them the basic EFT technique, Why? Because it is the easiest to learn, and once the basics have been understood they can used whenever and wherever

So what is EFT?

EFT has its origins in ancient Chinese medicine and can be best described as acupuncture without the need for needles. All that is required is to tap lightly on various parts of your body called meridian lines in order to balance your energy flow. When the energy within your body is disrupted this will show up in the form of physical or emotional symptoms. These symptoms are often likened to the blockage in a river. Tapping on the correct points clear these blockages and allow energy to flow freely again.

The blockages can be as a result of physical or emotional issues. Here are some of the issues where I have used EFT and have found it to be effective:

• Addictions such as alcohol, drugs and cigarettes
• Eating Disorders
• Physical healing
• Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia
• Weight Issues
• Enhancing Self Worth
• Depression
• Epilepsy
• Negative memories

And of course issues around money.

Other areas include:

• Fears and Phobias
• Grief and loss
• Enhancing sporting performance
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Insomnia
• Guilt

The creator of EFT, Gary Craig suggests that we “try it on everything” and the success rate statistics from my own clients and those of my colleagues (typically around 90%) would back up that statement

As it’s simple to learn the basics, clients are able to do a lot of the work on themselves. This makes the process extremely cost effective when compared with better known talk therapies. However for bigger issues and major traumas, it is recommended that you seek the help of a qualified practitioner.

Because of the changes EFT has made in my own life, I want to share this with the world. My ultimate goal is help as many people as I can to help themselves achieve good health, a calm balanced approach to life and to be their authentic selves.
